Josie is our newest little addition in WA. She just got a ride in from Klamath Falls OR where she was found as a stray. This tri-colored girl is a little bit of a mystery but so far likes other dogs and playing. Interested in cats a little too much. Will get better info on age and health after she is properly vetted. Shelter thinks 4-5; we think a bit younger. She weighs 37lbs and is a smallish standard or a larger mini. Stay tuned for more information as we unravel the mystery that is Josie.
Pepper is Larry’s mother. She is 3 years old and about 45lbs. She is good with dogs outside of her home and has random resource guarding with the resident dogs. She is great with children, the family cat, chickens and livestock. Pepper needs a new home as one her owners suffered an injury to her hands and is unable to provide some much needed exercise and activities to Pepper. Like Larry, she is a world-class cuddler and loves baths. Pepper is crate, leash and house trained. Luna will require an experienced and very confident leader for a fosterer/adopter as we are working to unwind some very aversive training methods employed at her former home (these were recommended by a trainer). We are also working on her extreme mouthiness when she gets excited (she nipped a potential adopter in the ear during play which required three stitches). She’s a 30lb, 3yo Bull Terrier Luna is good with dogs on a short-term basis but unknown with cats. A quiet adult only home would be ideal as the 11yo son in her former family was playing and making very high pitched sounds when Luna ran and nipped the friend in the thigh. She is leash, crate and house trained. Since she be overstimulated while playing with other dogs, she will need to be the only pet in her new home. Zena is entering our program as her owner had to unexpectedly relocate due to work and could not take Zena and Kopi with her. This sweet 7mo girl is very playful, easygoing and friendly. Per the owner surrender form, she is good with children, cats and other dogs. Both have been wonderful in the shelter playgroups. Zena is crate trained but will likely need a refresher in house and leash manners. Isn’t this the cutest picture? Alice is available and in the BC area. She does have a meet-n-greet scheduled for the Easter weekend. Alice is about 5 years old and 25-30lbs. She is dog-selective so her ideal home is one where she’ll be the only pet and where there are older children in the family. Alice is not a fan of the kitties. If you have any questions about Alice, please contact Suz at firstname.lastname@example.org or 415-672-7391.
Wilma is a new arrival who is still in her evaluation period. We love what we see so far. She loves to carry stuffed toys around; the toys will last forever since she barely has any teeth! Wilma is about 6 to 8 years old and roughly 45lbs. Please contact Suz at email@example.com or 415-672-7391 if you have any questions about this sweet girl. Please stay tuned for her updates!
Sweet Tilly just arrived. She’s been under the weather so she’ll be vetted next week. Please stay tuned for updates on this mellow cupcake! Please contact Suz at firstname.lastname@example.org or 415-672-7391 if you have any questions about this sweet girl.
Sissy needs a new home due to her family’s housing issues. She is about 3 to 5 years old and 65lbs. This mellow girl is great with the grandkids that are toddlers as well as the older ones. She’s a couch potato that gets snappy with the GSD x Basenji male when she doesn’t want to be bothered during naps. She did adore a tiny Chihuahua until he passed away. She gets very excited when she sees other dogs so on the safe side, she doesn’t get to meet them. Sissy is house trained but may need a refresher on leash and crate training. Sophie entered our program when she and the little resident Yorkie kept getting in scuffles, with the poor Yorkie being severely injured after the last incident. She is great with other dogs (is in playgroups with Luna, Petey, Burro and Casper at the kennel), just not the resident Yorkie. Sophie is almost 3 years old (born 6/1/16); and she is about 35lbs. She is crate, leash and house trained. Her favorite thing is to play Fetch with the Chuckit. If your information is not yet on file, please complete our online application. (http://
