Maverick – Gilroy, CA – Foster Home Needed

Maverick – Gilroy, CA – Foster Home Needed
We can’t help but to try to squeeze this little guy in our program. Maverick’s owner’s sudden and numerous family emergencies have left her caring for several older relatives on an almost full-time basis. She is unable to bring Maverick with her as he can be an energetic bull in a china shop. Maverick is a sweet, cuddly and playful 7mo guy who hasn’t been around with children nor dogs very much but he’s been polite to them when he sees them on walks. He tried to play with cranky Chihuahuas and didn’t mind when they tried to bite his legs off. The resident grumpy senior cat swats at him and he just takes off. This cutie is crate and leash trained (might pull in the beginning due to excitement) and will need a refresher on house training. I’m hoping for a foster/foster-to-adopt home for this goofy young lad. More current pictures are on their way. Pepper in Copperopolis, CA – Foster Home Needed

Pepper is Larry’s mother. She is 3 years old and about 45lbs. She is good with dogs outside of her home and has random resource guarding with the resident dogs. She is great with children, the family cat, chickens and livestock. Pepper needs a new home as one her owners suffered an injury to her hands and is unable to provide some much needed exercise and activities to Pepper. Like Larry, she is a world-class cuddler and loves baths. Pepper is crate, leash and house trained. Luna – Sebastopol, CA – – Adoption Pending

LunaLuna will require an experienced and very confident leader for a fosterer/adopter as we are working to unwind some very aversive training methods employed at her former home (these were recommended by a trainer). We are also working on her extreme mouthiness when she gets excited (she nipped a potential adopter in the ear during play which required three stitches). She’s a 30lb, 3yo Bull Terrier Luna is good with dogs on a short-term basis but unknown with cats. A quiet adult only home would be ideal as the 11yo son in her former family was playing and making very high pitched sounds when Luna ran and nipped the friend in the thigh. She is leash, crate and house trained. Since she be overstimulated while playing with other dogs, she will need to be the only pet in her new home. If your information is not yet on file, please complete our application (http://www.bullterrierrescue.org/?page_id=572). Please contact Suz at suz@bullyhaven.org or 415-672-7391 if you have any questions about this sweet girl.

Kopi – Visalia, CA – – Foster/Foster-to-Adopt Home Needed

Kopi NameKopi is entering our program as his owner had to unexpectedly relocate due to work and could not take Zena and Kopi with her.  This sensitive 1yo guy is very playful, and can be initially shy/nervous around strangers until he gets to know them.  Per the owner surrender form, he is good with children, cats and other dogs.  Both have been wonderful in the shelter playgroups.  Kopi is crate trained but will likely need a refresher in house and leash manners.  Kopi may guard his food and toys; the shelter staff has been able to take away his food bowl and toys without any issues but he could be subdued in a shelter environment.  If your information is not yet on file, please complete our online application: http\://www.bullterrierrescue.org/?page_id=572. Please contact Suz at suz@bullyhaven.org or 415-672-7391 if you have any questions about this sensitive guy.

Sancho – San Jose, CA

Sancho NameSancho is a high energy 19 month guy who needs more activities than working parents with a toddler can give him. He is very social with dogs of all sizes but tend to annoy them with his exuberance to play. He does challenge the toddler so he’ll need a home with no or older children. Sancho likes to chase the cat that hangs around his front yard but we’re not sure what will happen if he ever caught up to it. This 65lb guy is crate, leash and obedience trained. If you’re looking for a happy, fun and active guy, Sancho is the one for you. If your information is not yet on file, please complete our online application: http\://www.bullterrierrescue.org/?page_id=572. Sophie – Sebastopol, CA

SophieSophie entered our program when she and the little resident Yorkie kept getting in scuffles, with the poor Yorkie being severely injured after the last incident. She is great with other dogs (is in playgroups with Luna, Petey, Burro and Casper at the kennel), just not the resident Yorkie. Sophie is almost 3 years old (born 6/1/16); and she is about 35lbs. She is crate, leash and house trained. Her favorite thing is to play Fetch with the Chuckit. If your information is not yet on file, please complete our online application. Shorty – Seaside, CA

ShortyShorty is an awesome 1.5yo guy who was likely born with a spinal issue that was not discovered nor treated when he lost the use of his hind legs about 8 months ago. Once he arrived in rescue, he started physical, laser and water therapy to strengthen the muscles in his hind legs. He buzzes around in his donated wheelchair (thank you, Jodi Morimoto!). Shorty is about 45 to 50lbs…he is the sweetest guy who isn’t letting a slight disability stop his partying ways. His playstyle is rough so he is good with larger dogs on a limited basis (he gets overstimulated). He might be good with cats as their company seem to relax him a bit. Please stay tuned for news on this most wonderful guy! If you’re interested in fostering or adopting this playful and active guy, please complete our application (http://www.bullterrierrescue.org/?page_id=572).  Please contact Suz at suz@bullyhaven.org or 415-672-7391 if you have any questions about this sweet guy.
