Presley, Encino CA – Adopted!

PresleyNamePresley’s foster mom needs to get back on the career path so she urgently needs a new foster spot.  This little cupcake entered our program when her owner had to care for her father who was seriously injured in a car accident.  Presley has recovered from her mange and eye infections and special diet.  Presley turned one on Easter. and she’s a delightful 35lb girl who loved to rough house with a 100+ pound Great Dane in her former home but stays away from the Chihuahua owned by her owner’s dad. We don’t know how she is with cats but she’s great with her owner’s 6 and 8 year old brothers. She’s crate and house trained but can pull initially on walks. Her repertoire of tricks include Sit, Stay, Lay Down, Roll Over, etc.  Since she is high energy and on the pushy side, her ideal home would be a bull breed savvy one, and one where she would be the only pet.  Presley seems to get along with other dogs upon meeting but will get into scuffles with them on a long-term situation.  Presley will be available once she recovers from her spay.

Wyatt, Santa Clarita – ADOPTED!

WyattNameWyatt is an absolutely delightful little guy who was found stray in the streets of Pomona and brought to the infamous Devore Shelter.  He is recovering from his neuter and will need to gain some weight so he’ll be available around 6/14/14.  Wyatt is 5 to 6 months old; and he currently weighs around 29 pounds.  He is great with other dogs and is very mindful of cats (he’s really more curious about them more than anything).  He loves to follow you around but is not overly clingy nor hyper.  Please check back for updates on this little doll!

Jester, Venice Beach – ADOPTED

JesterNameJester is a 10mo clown (hence his name) who was rescued from a high-kill Southern CA shelter by a kind couple.  After neutering him and teaching him some basic manners, they have contacted Rescue to help find a home that would appreciate a very goofy guy.  Jester is awesome with other dogs, knows some basic commands (working on “drop it” because he’s a little stubborn in that department), and is house & leash trained.
He’s a gentle soul but still full of puppy energy and joy. He loves to follow you around the house and be your personal fan club.  He’s still learning to be less mouthy; and he totally respects the boundaries given by the resident male BT and senior shepherd/terrier mix. Please check out his video:  http://youtu.be/FPr2dWUr5VE

Mickey – San Francisco, CA – ADOPTED!

MickeyNameSuper sweet Mickey entered our program when his owner faced housing issues.  Mickey is a touch over 9 years old (born 2/1/05) and he weighs 73 pounds.  This big guy can be good with other dogs with slow and careful introductions but we’re hoping for a spot where he can be doted on as the pampered sole pet.  He’s not a fan of cats but is one of most people focused and affectionate guys you’ll ever meet.  He is looking for a home where he can be the owner/operator of a comfy couch and just lounge on it all day.  He is house trained, is a dream on a leash and getting used to being in crate.  Do you have a sofa waiting for this sweet guy?  We’ll be taking care of his teeth in a few weeks so other than that, he just needs supplements to help his joints.  He moves just fine when he’s on them. Very mellow and sweet guy!

Chloe – Sebastopol, ADOPTED!

Chloe

ChloeNBuddyMed

Chloe has recovered from her ear infection and has a bit of residual skin issues. She is great with other dogs and gets along fabulously with the male BT in her foster home.  Chloe is about 1.5 years old and 40lbs. Chloe is a bolter so you’ll need to secure her before opening any doors.  She is house, crate and leash trained.  If your information is not yet on file, our application can be found here: http://www.bullterrierrescue.org/?page_id=572. Thanks for any consideration! ~Suz

Gemma – Sebastopol, CA – – ADOPTED

GemmaKelseyvilleNameGemma is a very affectionate and playful girl who’s about 1 to 1.5 years old.  She’s a petite 36lb girl who did not play well with the small dogs at the shelter and seems intimidated by the medium/large ones there. Gemma LOVES her toys and seems to like semi-hoarding them, but she’s willing to share if you throw them for her!  She likes to show off and prance around with a squeaky toy as well.  Please give us a holler if you can help foster this silly girl!  She arrives at our boarding kennel on or about 4/29.

Shelby – Sebastopol, CA – – ADOPTED

ShelbyMedSweet Shelby became a year old on May 28.  Her family needed to find her a new home as she eats grass and any object that’s not nailed down to the floor.  As all parts of their huge camphor tree are toxic to dogs, they are afraid that she will be poisoned by the leaves, berries and branches that often fall on the ground.  Shelby is crate, leash and about 50% house trained as she spends most of her time in a crate or in the yard.  This 40lb cupcake is wonderful with children of all ages (she’s been great with the 2 and 3 year olds in her original and current homes); and she gets along wonderfully with the female cattle dog in the family.  We think that with lots of exercise, mental stimulation and diet changes/supplements, her landsharking ways will diminish.  She’s not destructive with furniture, just items on the ground.  Do you have room in your heart and home for this sweet girl?

Winston – ADOPTED!

WinstonSofaNameWinstonNOscarNameWinston is a fantastic guy who is about 6 years old.  He has a great disposition – very laidback and is generally not bothered by small/medium dogs, even if they get snarfy at him.  He was attacked by a larger dog and seems to now be cautious at the sight of the larger woofers.  We do not know how he’ll do with cats.  Winston is very social and does very well in crowded environments.  He has not yet met young children but has been wonderful with the ones 8+ years old.  He’s a true velcro dog that loves being on the couch with or without you; he loves to snuggle and be your TV buddy.  He is crate, house and leash trained.  He is afraid of water, even the water hose.  Winston has exhibited some food aggression towards the resident dogs (two female Labs) in his foster home but that has been a non-issue once everyone was fed in separate areas.  This lovebug weighs about 45 pounds.

Please check out Winston’s video – he was missing his foster mom when she was traveling (yes, he can swear like a sailor!).

Patty – ADOPTED!

NapaBrindlePattyPlayful Patty is about 1.5 to 2 years old.  She’s very social and happy-go-lucky.  At the shelter, she wanted to play with the female Rat Terrier that she was tested with.  This little muffin weighs about 35lbs.  Patty would love a foster home…please let us know if you have a place for her to hang her little coat.  Stay tuned for updates as well learn more about her.  If we can get a fostering commitment, we can spring her from the shelter on or about 4/24.  Thanks for any consideration!  ~Suz

Katie, Sebastopol – ADOPTED

KatieKatie is an outgoing girl who tested very well at the shelter with a female Rat Terrier and a large male pit bull mix – – all she wanted to do was play with them!  We don’t know how she is with children and cats but she is wonderful with people.  She seems to be unfazed by the shelter stay and apparently thinks that Life is one big party.  Katie is about 2 years old; and she weighs about 50 pounds.  Would anyone have room to foster/foster-to-adopt this little girl?
