Darling Dozer – ADOPTED!

DozerDozer entered our program when he was getting very limited 1:1 time with his family due to his rowdiness; and he started becoming dominant with the two young children in his home. Dozer is about 4.5 years old (born October 2009) but is still very much a big puppy. With some structure and set boundaries in his interim foster spot, he has turned out to be quite a little darling. He is playful and very eager to please. He learns quickly and can be protective of his family until you let him know that all is OK. Although he is generally good with dogs on a short-term basis, he has jealousy issues with them on a long-term basis. His ideal home is one with older children and where he’s the only pet. Dozer is about 45lbs; he is crate, house and about 90% leash trained.

Patton – ADOPTED

PattonPatton is the last of Norma Jean’s babies, born on 4/21/13 (almost a year old). He spent some time with an older couple but who knew that he’d be 70lbs? We think he’s mixed with American Bulldog but he’s still a goofy guy who is still a big puppy. He gets along fabulously with the female Bull Terrier and the cat in his foster home. He’s a very friendly goofball who is also good with children. Patton is house, crate and leash trained.  A video of Patton can be found here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B391Ltugw8E

Nikita – ADOPTED!

Nikita

Little Nikita was surrendered to the shelter due to a move. What we saw was a very underweight girl (32lbs) who was unable to put weight on her right leg. She’s about 2 years old and is just the sweetest little bug that you’ll ever meet. She’s a treasure of a youngster who has been a trooper with her hip issue. She loves to nap in the sun and enjoys soaking in all the sights and sounds. One of her favorite pastimes is sitting at the window and watching the trees sway. She is not good with the small dogs but does fine with the medium/large ones that are indifferent to her. Nikita has undergone and has fully recovered from an FHO surgery.  She now weighs about 38 pounds.  This little muffin is crate, house and leash trained. More pictures of Nikita can be found in her Facebook photo album.

Chica – Santa Rosa, ADOPTED!

ChicaSantaRosa

Chica is a 40lb friendly purebred Bull Terrier. Her size makes us wonder if she is a large Mini Bull. Like all Bull Terriers she is a kid in a clown suit! She does all the fun bully moves that makes them so unique and special. Chica has shown an interest in agility and will go over jumps and is eager to learn and very food motivated. She walks beautifully on a leash and greets strange dogs respectfully. She has been to doggie daycare 2x and has been good with other dogs on a short-term basis. She is active but not hyper.

Ava

Chubby Riverside Girl – 4/6 (Friday) transport from Fresno to Vallejo Hi Everyone – we couldn’t resist this chubby girl with mange who was extremely playful with the shelter dogs and outrageously friendly with people. She got along wonderfully with a female lab as well as a female Shih Tzu. Is there anyone available to help with transport legs this Friday from Fresno to Vallejo? We may try to tie the Panda North Bay transport with this girl. Thanks for any consideration! ~Suz

Kono

Newly sprung from the Fresno shelter, Kono is an extremely happy and active boy. This 3-4 year old guy is a party animal! He was completely unfazed by his shelter stay and is always ready to start a new adventure! He loves to explore and LOVES his Kongs. Kono was indifferent to all the dogs he met at the shelter, even the ones that surprised him from the back of a pick-up truck. Party Boy will be transported to the SF area this weekend; this 55lb tank will be ready for a foster home in a few weeks if he continues to evaluate well.

Nala

Nala in Redding
Nala is a delightful 1y9mo muffin who needs a new home due to an unexpected newborn. She is good with the baby but her family is unable to give her quality time due to long work hours and attention on the new arrival. Nala is house, crate and leash trained. On walks, she is good with other dogs unless they snarf at her. With proper introductions, she can be good with submissive dogs on a short-term basis but can have jealousy issues longer term. This 40lb cupcake likes to chase the neighborhood cats but it’s unknown what will happen if she ever caught up to them.

Bella

Bella in Reno
Meet Bella (middle dog) who was surrendered to a shelter because she was not good with livestock yet was placed in a ranch so back to the shelter she went. A Good Samaritan pulled her on her Euthanasia Day and has housed her for a month but commitments from a breeder to place her have fallen through. Bella is 9 months old; she is crate, house, leash and obedience (some basic) trained. She has been great with the medium/large dogs in her interim spot and also with the larger dogs that she has met. She is not good with cats, small dogs and livestock. She has been good with children that she met during walks but the shelter noted that she resource guarded a toy from a young child. She loves playing with water and balls and is self-entertaining as she can play with balls all day! We’d like to help her but can only do so if a BT-experienced foster spot is found or if someone fosters a kenneled dog to make room for her at our kennel. Bella is in the Reno area; we will be scheduling her evaluation in the next few days. Bella has been bounced around several homes since May so her ideal spot would be a foster-to-adopt one with older children. ~Suz

Jack

Jack passed his evaluation with flying colors yesterday (10/2)! He is 75lbs of pure love, affection and gentleness! He was a pleasure to walk and although he seemed worried about a couple of Jack Russell Terriers coming towards him, he gladly complied with his owner’s request to “Sit” then ignored the little terrorists. Jack is an extremely happy guy who is always on an even keel. When he lived on a ranch, he was great with chickens and ducks and even horses as long as they didn’t run. He’d want to chase the cats there but could be diverted if you asked him to “Stop”. He was later found napping next to the same cat that he was thinking about chasing. Jack’s teeth are nice and clean, and he’s in apparent good health for a 7yo guy. His evaluators (thank you, Dorothy and Bob!) just couldn’t stop raving about him and would have taken him home to foster if their male BT would allow it. Is there a place that this wonderful couch potato can call home?

Tater Tot

Tater Tot Tater Tot is so confused at the shelter after losing her family and home. She was unclaimed after being found as a stray. This stocky girl is unassuming, quiet and loves to play with people once she gets to know them. She’s initially timid with men but quickly accepts them if there’s a woman present. Her ideal home would be a quiet one where she’ll be the only pet. Tater Tot is estimated to be 3 years old. ~Suz
